Hair, Wii & Pedicures

My baby boy has blond hair...very blond hair.  You know, the kind that you can only really see when it is wet. And...he is finally getting enough to do the "spike" thing when it is wet.  So tonight, when I bathed him, I decided to try to get a picture of his hair for proof.  Only thing is, its too hard to see. You have to look very closely to see the small spike.
So then, I thought...I'll blow dry his hair (HA) and this is what I get.  His hair is the part of the picture that looks blurry above his head.  Great!  On a side note...he LOVES the blow dryer and is already trying to figure out how to turn it on. Hmmmmm. Guess I'll need to hide the tools when he gets older.
A few weeks ago, I went over to a friends house to help her set up her Facebook account. GASP! Finally! Anyhow, they have a Wii and Mia played on it while we facebooked (is that a word?). Her favorite game is creating people.  This is the one she made to look like her daddy. When I asked her about the eyebrows, she said that all the other choices were too skinny. Like any good Daddy, he was very proud of the likeness his daughter created. We have snickered and laughed about it too.  Love, absolutely love, the perspective of children! Needless to say, I will not be posting the likeness she created of me!
A couple of years ago, Mia and I started something special that is our own.  Every 3-4 months, we load up a big bag of books and head to Starbucks.  She gets a hot chocolate and I indulge in whatever coffee suits my fancy at the time.  It had been awhile since we had done this and she had mentioned this several times to me. So, a friend willingly agreed to care for Simon while Mia and I had "our time". The bonus this time was that my sweet husband had given us gift certificates for pedicures for Christmas. I didn't get any pictures of us at Starbucks, but I can tell you she and I both loved it. It is so fun to be with her. Below is a pic of her getting her first REAL pedicure. The wonder in her eyes and the smile on her face were well worth it! Thank you, Hershel for giving us this opportunity for making memories.

The finished product. Mine are bright pink with white flowers. Hers are light sparkly pink with orange flowers. We had so much fun!
I do have one quick funny to add...

Last night at the dinner table, we were talking about swim as well as other things. Mia looked at me and said,"Mom, I just want to be bossy and I can't do that until I'm a grown up!"  Spoken like a true first-born child.
